Stephen Shefrin here. I just wrapped a full listing shoot for Lisa Roberts of Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty: a completely renovated single-level home in Catavina, North Scottsdale, sitting on about three-quarters of an acre with the McDowell Mountains behind it. Soft white walls, wide-plank oak floors, warm wood cabinetry and black steel window frames. It’s the kind of remodel where every room is bright, and keeping it that way on camera is the whole job.

The great room opens straight to the pool through a wall of black-framed glass, under a vaulted ceiling with stained wood beams and a floor-to-ceiling wood-slat fireplace. With that much daylight coming in, the goal was clean whites and a backyard view you can actually read through the windows, not a blown-out white rectangle.

The kitchen is the centerpiece: a big white-topped island with seating for four, rift-cut wood cabinets, a black range hood over a Wolf range, a Sub-Zero refrigerator, a pot filler, and a pass-through window to the patio. Kitchens like this get several angles each, so buyers can understand how it connects to the family room and the breakfast nook.

Off the kitchen, the family room has its own fireplace, built-in shelving and a long view across the whole back of the house.

The primary suite has a fireplace, a sliding glass wall to the patio, and a spa bath with a huge glass shower, dual rain heads, a freestanding tub under windows looking out to the palms, and floating wood vanities lit from underneath.

Out back: a covered patio with dining and lounge areas, a built-in grill, a freestanding outdoor fireplace, travertine pavers set into turf, and a free-form pool and spa with a boulder waterfall, all with mountain views. I shot the backyard from several corners so buyers can see how the spaces connect.

If you’re listing in Scottsdale, Paradise Valley or anywhere in the Phoenix area and want photos that show the whole house the way buyers will experience it, I’d love to shoot it. See real estate photography pricing, get in touch, or follow along on Instagram.
